University-Enterprise Collaboration Nurtures Talents, Writing a New Chapter in the Bearing Field: Teachers and Students from Hebei Vocational University of Technology and Engineering Visit Our Institute

To deepen university-enterprise cooperation and support the cultivation of talent in the bearing major, on the morning of December 8, over 30 students from the Bearing Major of Hebei Vocational University of Technology and Engineering visited our institute for an observation and learning activity . This activity aims to build a bridge for communication between theory and practice, allowing students to gain an up-close understanding of the development trend of the bearing industry and the charm of scientific research, and laying a solid foundation for their professional learning and career planning .

At the beginning of the event, Lv Qinglei, Assistant to the Dean, delivered a detailed and vivid specialized course to the students . He systematically reviewed the honors and achievements our institute has attained in bearing R&D and technological innovation since its establishment . Covering everything from industry recognition to technological breakthroughs in the field , he comprehensively demonstrated the institute's profound industrial accumulation and leading position in the bearing sector , helping the students gain a clear understanding of our institute's comprehensive strength.

Subsequently, the students walked into the trial-manufacturing workshop, micro-fabrication workshop and R&D finished product exhibition hall one after another, kicking off an immersive learning journey.In the trial-manufacturing workshop, Assistant Lü gave a detailed introduction to the customized bearing products developed to meet the personalized needs of various enterprises. He explained the entire process from demand docking and scheme design to sample trial-manufacturing, helping the students understand the close integration of bearing R&D and market application.Stepping into the micro-fabrication workshop, the highlight was the high-end micro-bearing project that our institute is sparing no effort to tackle. The in-depth yet easy-to-understand explanation covering technical difficulties, R&D ideas and application prospects made the students feel the rigor and charm of cutting-edge technology R&D.In the R&D finished product exhibition hall, the key R&D achievements of the past five years were displayed one by one. Representative cases including grain and oil machinery bearings, intelligent textile machinery bearings, robot reducer bearings, micro-wind power generation bearings, as well as our institute's flagship product—machine tool spindle bearings—fully cover multiple industrial fields. Combining with actual application scenarios, the staff explained in detail the technical advantages and innovative points of various types of bearings, enabling the students to gain a deeper understanding of the application scope and industrial value of bearings.

At the conclusion of the visit and learning program, Guo Jinjie, Dean of our institute, delivered a sincere and earnest summary and sharing session, presenting a vivid lecture that combined professional insights with life guidance.First of all, Dean Guo expressed his delight at the students’ identity as the first cohort of bearing major students from Hebei Vocational University of Technology and Engineering. He mentioned that Henan University of Science and Technology had previously been the only undergraduate institution in China to offer a bearing program. As pioneers of this emerging major, the students carry the new driving force for the development of the bearing industry and have boundless prospects ahead.

Drawing on his own experiences, Dean Guo shared his original aspiration for entrepreneurship and life insights with the students. He talked about how he entered society at the age of 18, and his early military service had tempered his will. Later, he sold all his belongings to commit himself to establishing the Bearing Research Institute. Despite facing a great deal of misunderstanding and doubt back then, driven by his deep passion and dedication to the bearing industry, he always stayed true to his original aspiration.He emphasized that the age of 18 is a crucial starting point in life, and one must rely on their own hard work and perseverance to forge ahead in the future. Just as he expects of his own child who has just started their freshman year at university, only by being down-to-earth and exercising strict self-discipline can one move forward steadily in life.

When it comes to the development of the industry, Dean Guo pointed out that bearings, hailed as the "heart" of machine tools for the manufacturing industry, are indispensable core components of the equipment manufacturing sector. Currently, the 15th Five-Year Plan explicitly proposes to vigorously develop key fields such as the low-altitude economy and machine tools for the manufacturing industry, which has brought broad development prospects and historic opportunities to the bearing industry. He encouraged the students to cherish the opportunities for professional learning, delve deep into the bearing field, and realize their personal value while building a rewarding career amid the surging tide of industry development.

The leading teacher from Hebei Vocational University of Technology and Engineering spoke highly of Dean Guo's sharing, commenting that his words were sincere and heartfelt.
